In honor of Take Your Dog to Work Day this Friday, I wanted to share my thoughts on dogs in the workplace and some pretty darn cute photos of the dogs in my life.
Since I work mainly from my home office these days, my dogs, Bruno (right) and Bridget (left), are an integral part of my day. They greet me in the morning, nap contentedly while I click away on my computer, and somehow instinctively seem to know when it’s time for me to call it a day.
Even when the house is empty of humans, I’ve got these sweet babies to keep me company.
This is Bridget’s very effective “Mom, don’t ya think it’s time to play?” face. Irresistible.
In addition to my very dog-friendly home office, we’ve also welcomed dogs at our plumbing/electrical supply shop. I’d like to introduce you all to someone very special.
Meet Delilah. This sweet, scrappy, little poodle mix is one lucky pup. She’s living a life that most dogs can only dream about.
You see, she belongs to our employee Mark, and when we hired Mark, Delilah came as part of the package. She has officially become our “shop dog” and comes to work with her dad each and every day.
She’s got the run of the place and you just never know where she might show up.
Sometimes she hangs out in the store aisles. Just hangin’.
Sometimes she chills in the warehouse. She has the uncanny ability to flip those floppy ears, independently of each other. It’s the funniest thing to witness. I think she knows just how adorable she is and uses her ear-flipping ability to get just what she wants. It’s very effective.
It’s pretty cool to see the effect this dog has on both our employees and customers, alike. I’ve witnessed big, burly contractors break out their sweetest puppy voice when this little girl approaches.
She’s always ready to supervise the guys in a variety of tasks. In this case, she’s checking out Boy #4 as he gets some inventory out on the sales floor.
But she’s never too far from Mark.
There are all kinds of positive reasons for having pets in the workplace. It’s science that pets help reduce stress levels. They put us in a better mood and create a friendlier environment which is obvious by the way people react the minute a dog enters the room.
I have the pleasure of partnering with Wellness Pet Food to introduce you to their newest line of dog food and treats – TruFood. I’ve had a very positive relationship with this brand as a Humane Society volunteer and pet mama. It was my local Humane Society Veterinarian’s brand of choice for the special needs and foster programs. This was my first experience with the brand and it meant a lot to me.
TruFood, their newest line of pet food, is something really special. It is slow-baked in small batches and contains fresh, whole foods that can help support your dog’s immune and digestive systems as well as their joints, skin and coat.
Each of the 5 varieties contains a blend of whole-prey protein, grain-free fiber, antioxidant-rich superfoods and probiotics. These tasty blends contain 70% more raw protein than typical dry dog food.
Bruno and Bridget are pleased to be trying out the Salmon, Turkey, and Flaxseed Recipe. It’s full of all kinds of vibrant goodness including salmon, turkey hearts and livers, chickpeas and lentils, beets and blueberries and real air-dried fruits and veggies. Anti-inflammatory flaxseeds and wholesome sources of Omega fatty acids, like chicken fat, support joint health and will help Bruno and Bridget keep their shiny, beautiful coats.
The food contains NO meat by-products, potato, wheat, corn, soy fillers or artificial colors, preservatives and flavors.
And, they’re crazy for it!
Take Your Dog to Work Day is this Friday, June 26. Check with your employer to see if your company is participating and take your pup to work! I guarantee it will make it a very special day for everyone involved.
Thanks to Wellness Pet Food for sponsoring this post to help me spread the word about Take Your Dog to Work Day and Wellness TruFood. All opinions expressed in this post are 100% my own.
I love French Bulldogs! I think my husband looks online at the everyday 😉 We are looking for a new dog food for the 2 we have now. I’m going to have to try this!
Bruno and Bridget are Boston Terriers but the breeds are very similar. I love French Bulldogs too! So adorable.
Love it! What cute pooches – and bring your pet to work day sounds alright by me 😀
This food looks great for the pups too!
Thanks for introducing me to this dog food. We are very choosy what we feed our Lucy so I will look for this. The photos of your Boston bulls are precious. My husband’s mother used to breed them. And Delilah is precious, too!
Those doggies are just too cute. Great pics! My dog would love going to work!
Awww love this post. I have 3 dogs and they are the best. I’ve not heard of Wellness TruFood but will look for it.
Your pups are so cute! And your little mascot at the shop is one lucky girl!
Ahh!! What a great post! Love the idea of taking your dog to work–cute!!
Thanks, Linda! It’s truly a wonderful thing to have them around. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
