Halloween has always been one of my favorite holidays and it is fast approaching! It’s a holiday that is all about fun with no expectations, no huge meals to plan and cook, and no presents to buy. So what do I do? I totally go to town decorating my house, planning themed meals, and baking tons of desserts. Funny how things work out that way isn’t it?
It also happens to be the day before my birthday so I think I grew up believing it was all about me which may explain my strange fondness for all things creepy, crawly, and spooky. I was a fan of vampires and werewolves before Edward and Jacob were even a twinkle in their parents’ eyes.
I’ve been scouring the internet on the lookout for all things Halloween and boy did I score big. Thanks to Pinterest, I have a pretty extensive Halloween board with lots of super creative ideas to spook up your house and yummy recipes to feed your little ghouls and goblins. I just love Pinterest. It gives me the same feeling that I get when I walk into one of those container stores. A thrilling sense of exhilaration overcomes me when I see all those little containers and imagine all the organizational possibilities. Same thing with Pinterest. It is one place to keep links to everything you see that is of interest to you, on boards that you create, customized to your own liking. Fabulous! My husband does not share my feelings about container stores, nor does he share my excitement over Pinterest. I’ve tried to clue him in, but he just doesn’t get it. So be it.
Here is just a small sampling of my Creepy, Crawly, Spooky Stuff pins. I hope you see something that inspires you to get crafty or get cooking! I’ll be adding to the board through the month of October so be sure and check back for the latest and greatest Halloween crafts and goodies.

A little chalkboard paint and a pumpkin make for a really creative Halloween countdown from Paper Princess Studio. It would also be a fun way to post your dinner menu for a Halloween themed party.
Pina Ghoulada anyone? Surprising what you can do with a little Karo Syrup and red food coloring. The “blood” dripping down from the rim of the glass adds a great effect. Check out Martha Stewart’s super creepy but really delicious looking collection of Halloween cocktail recipes. Oh, that Martha!

If your kids aren’t too squeamish than Dead Man Meatloaf from Allrecipes could be just the thing to feed them for dinner before they make the mad dash out the door to go trick-or-treating. This poor guy has seen better days. I shaped him out of meatloaf mixture, dressed him up with olives for eyes and a corn mouth and then finished him off, literally, with a knife in the belly and a ketchup based sauce. I know, it’s awful isn’t it? Fantastically awful! I believe being the mother of 4 boys has taken it’s toll on me. Meatloaf men, beware!
Time to go dust off the Halloween decorations and get working on some new creepy, crawly, spooky creations.
Thanks so much for including my Crack Dip Val!! I love all those other spooky ideas! Halloween is my birthday, and i love decorating – I have some great ideas to add to my list for this year now!
Thank you so much for stopping by Megan 🙂 That dip is seriously good! It seems a lot of bloggers were born on or around Halloween. Interesting!
Love all these cute, crafty and delish Halloween ideas Valerie! I used to tell myself I wasn’t really into the holiday but as an adult I’m beginning to love it!
OMG your b-day is 11/1? My brother’s b-day is 11/11, and my birthday is on Halloween!!!! You know how much I love my birthday after I came to the US. Everyone remember my birthday… LOL. It would have been even more fun if I grew up here. I love your Halloween collection! I’ve been so busy that we haven’t even decorated house yet. I’m so behind this year…wait last year too. =P Thanks for great inspiration!
You were born on Halloween? That must be why you are so special Nami!
HA! I especially like the skeletons crawling up the side of the house. 🙂 I’ve always loved Halloween. I don’t do any creepy decorations anymore, just autumnal things. But in my young, single days I would throw big parties and spook out my apartment completely! 🙂
Thank you so much for including me ghosts! What a great round up 🙂
Your very welcome Jackie. Those ghosts have been a very popular pin on my board and have been repinned 79 times and counting! I have a feeling there will be a lot of those guys around for Halloween!
