Homemade Chex Mix
This flavorful homemade Chex Mix recipe is crunchy, salty, and completely irresistible. It's easy to customize and perfect for holiday parties, game day celebrations, and movie night.

- 4 cups Corn Chex
- 3 cups Rice Chex
- 2 cups small pretzel twists
- 1 cup mixed nuts I do a combo of mixed nuts with a little extra cocktail peanuts
- 6 tablespoons butter melted
- 3 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 ½ teaspoons Lawry's Seasoning Salt
- ½ teaspoon granulated garlic or garlic powder
- ½ teaspoon onion powder
Preheat oven to 250 degrees F.
Combine Chex, pretzels, and nuts on a large rimmed baking sheet.
Add Worcestershire and seasonings to melted butter and stir to combine. Pour over cereal mixture on the baking sheet and use a spoon to mix until everything is well coated. Transfer to oven and bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15 minutes.
Allow to cool completely and store in a gallon sized Ziploc plastic storage bag or other airtight container.
Chex Mix Variations
For the Chex Mix Base (7 cups) - Use a combination of any type of Chex cereal you'd like to equal 7 cups - Corn, Rice, Honey Nut, or Wheat. Try replacing 1 cup of the Chex with Cheerios.
Crackers and/or Pretzels (2 cups) - Reduce or eliminate the pretzels and replace them with the same amount of cheese crackers, bagel chips, oyster crackers, Bugles, or corn chips.
Nuts (1 cup) - Use a combination of your favorite nuts. Cashews, macadamia nuts, pistachios, and almonds are all delicious. Honey roasted peanuts will add a sweet element.
Storage
Transfer the cooled mixture to a gallon size zippered plastic storage bag. Press out as much air as possible and seal the bag. Homemade Chex Mix will stay fresh for 2 to 3 weeks if stored in an airtight container at room temperature. For longer storage you can freeze it for up to 3 to 4 months.
