Use them to dress up your mason jars for gift giving. I know the wheels are turning in the heads of all mason jar craft enthusiasts. The possibilities!

If you use mason jars for storage of pantry essentials, like I do, these new lids will make them look awful pretty on your pantry shelves and kitchen table.

A few facts – they are BPA free and they are available in the regular mouth size to fit any Ball regular mouth mason jar. They come in a package of 6 of each, lids and bands, and currently retail for $5.95 at the Fresh Preserving Store and several other online retailers.

Since all lids are only good for one run through the canner, it’s always a good idea to have extras on hand.

The bright, metallic look is such a pretty compliment to the Heritage Collection mason jars which also happen to come in green and blue. Handy.

  1. We LOVE mason jars at the Homestead. We store dry goods, such as rice, in the larger ones. The smaller jars hold homemade salad dressing and left overs.

  2. My favorite thing to do with mason jars is to make jams and jellies of all kinds, and give them to friends and family members.

  3. I love these jars and the colors, I am going to try canning for the first time this year. Thank you for the opportunity

  4. The question was “What is your favorite way to use a mason jar?

I’m just getting interested in canning & in the process of finding a canning pot / lid & other things I need, so I’d say my favorite way of using a canning jar is to store extra Hummingbird feed I make in the refrigerator! It’s four parts water to one part sugar). I make a small batch ensure freshness – one cup of feed split between 2 clean feeders. When it’s very hot outside the feed goes bad in the feeders quickly so I change it more often & will store an extra ‘cup of feed’ in the fridge so it’s ready when I need it. Thanks for this contest!

  5. In the spring and summer I love to use them as flower vases. During the holidays they are great for cookie making kits. Thank you for the wonderful giveaway.

  6. I like to use them for their normal purpose of canning food. I would like to start using them for storage purposes though. I just need to get organized.

  7. I do not use the beautiful jars but I do adore them and I know my mother uses them for practically everything! What a little sweetheart she is. ;)
