Up until just a few years ago, I was strictly a red wine girl. Does anyone else remember those sweet “pink wines” that were popular in the 80’s? Well they ruined me for anything but red wine for nearly three decades.

When the recent rosé craze started I immediately flashed back to the those big hair, white zinfandel days and thought for sure I was not going to be participating and then I tried one. And, then I tried 10 more! And, friends, wow, my taste for wine has completely evolved over the past several years as a result.

I love today’s rosés and I’ve even started venturing more into the crisp, dry whites. You just never know where your palette will lead you through life but it’s a very happy journey. Especially when wine is involved.

I can see this pretty drink on the menu for girl’s night, bridal showers, Mother’s Day gatherings, and backyard BBQ’s on the 4th of July. It’s definitely the drink for those of you hosting a royal wedding watch party!

The key to getting a slushy consistency is starting with ALL frozen ingredients. The easiest way to accomplish this for blender drinks is to pour the liquids into ice cube trays and freezing them for at least 6 hours or overnight.

Strawberry Lemonade Frosé - Ingredients including a bottle of rose, ice cube trays with frozen rose and lemonade, frozen raspberries, fresh lemons and pink and white striped straws.

I went with store-bought lemonade and a bottle of this very tasty but affordable Côtes de Roses.

I’ve sampled many a rosé and I have to say, I really love this one. It’s floral, not overly sweet, and just really nice. The base of this gorgeous bottle is shaped like a blossoming rose and it has a really cool glass closure. It would make a great hostess gift.

A bowl filled with frozen cubes of rose and lemonade, a small bowl filled with simple syrup, and a bowl filled with frozen raspberries.

Everything about this recipe is pretty. From the bottle, to the frozen rosé and lemonade ice cubes, to the frosty, frozen strawberries. It all gets tossed into the blender with a little simple syrup and turns into a delicious, adult slushy.

Ingredient Tip

To make your own simple syrup, combine equal amounts of water and sugar in a small saucepan and place over medium low heat. Simmer and stir until the sugar has completely dissolved and the water is clear. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely. Refrigerate any leftovers in a mason jar or other airtight container.

I’m using my workhorse 9 cup Ninja Kitchen Auto IQ Blender. If your blender is less than 9 cup capacity, you will probably need to blend this recipe up in two batches.

You can modify several elements to suit your taste. I’ve added just enough simple syrup to add a light sweetness but feel free to add more. It’s up to you to decide how boozy you’d like it. Add more lemonade cubes for less alcohol content. Taste as you go and customize it to your liking.

P.S. – If you have leftover lemonade ice cubes make these Slow Melt Arnold Palmers.

Ingredients

  • 1 bottle of rosé
  • 1 to 2 cups lemonade, to taste
  • 1 cup frozen strawberries, no sugar added
  • 2 tablespoons simple syrup, or to taste
  • fresh sliced strawberries, for garnish
  • fresh lemon slices, for garnish

Instructions

  • Pour the rosé and lemonade into ice cube trays and freeze for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  • Place all of the rosé cubes and 6 of the lemonade cubes in a 9 cup capacity blender along with frozen strawberries and 2 tablespoons simple syrup. Process until smooth and slushy. Taste and serve as is or add additional lemonade cubes and process again for a less boozy drink. If you’d like a thinner consistency, feel free to pour in a splash or two of lemonade.
  • Pour into pretty serving glasses and garnish with lemon slices and fresh sliced strawberries.

Notes

For a small batch of simple syrup combine ¼ cup sugar and ¼ cup water in a small saucepan and place over medium-low heat. Simmer and stir until sugar has completely dissolved. Remove from the heat and allow to cool completely.
1 bottle of rosé  will fill one and a half standard size (12-cube) ice cube trays for a total of 18 cubes.
2 cups lemonade fit perfectly into one standard size (12-cube) ice cube tray.
How much lemonade you use is totally up to you and depends on how strong you want the drink. I thought 6 cubes was perfect but you can add all 12 for a less boozy drink.
Make-Ahead Instructions: Follow recipe as directed and then transfer the Frosé to a freezer-proof container with a lid. Freeze overnight. When ready to serve, remove from freezer and allow to sit out for 5 minutes. Stir in a little additional rosé or lemonade to reach desired consistency, if needed.

The recipe calls for simple syrup which can be purchased but it’s very easy to make your own. The directions are in both the post and Notes section of the recipe card.
