Heidi

In addition to sharing recipes and the random shenanigans of the men in my house, my husband and I own and operate a small business. Over the course of the past couple of weeks, we have relocated to a beautiful building less than three miles away. We may be a “small” business but there was nothing small about this move. Working 10 hour days, seven days a week, does not leave much time for cooking or blogging which explains the crickets that have been chirping around here since my last post almost two weeks ago. As the dust settles after our move and life begins to return to “normal” I’m more than ready to be back in my kitchen.

Amidst the chaos, we had to say goodbye to our sweet Heidi. She has been part of our family for 13 years and today I’d like to tell you all a little about her.

She was cute as a button when we first got her.

She loved belly rubs.

She loved soaking up the sun with her feline friend, Sasha.

She loved going on walks.

She loved the snow.

She loved opening presents; even if they weren’t for her.

She loved spending time at Grandma and Grandpa’s cabin with the boys.

But most of all she loved Bruno, and Bruno loved her.

Rest in peace sweet girl. Our house will not be the same without you.

  1. Aw I’m sorry :( My family has had bostons my whole life. I have said goodbye to two of them. We just got 2 new puppies because not having bostons just didn’t seem right. Sorry for your loss :(

  2. I’m so sorry to hear about Heidi. :( My kids and I want to have a dog but we don’t have family here to take care of the dog when we go oversea for a long time. I always dream of having a dog, but again it’s going to be so sad when we have to say good bye. Hope your family is okay at this sad time…

Moving takes so much effort – either I get older and my body doesn’t move as fast….it’s just a pain to do all the work! Hope you are finally settling down!

  3. Oh this just made me teary, our dogs are such a huge part of our families. I’m sure Heidi was loved so much & will be missed. My SIL has Boston’s, I just love them :)

  4. Very sorry, it’s hard to say goodbye to our beautiful friends. We had to let our Pekingese, Gizmo, go a couple of years ago, it still stings. Still, we’ll keep on bringing animals into our lives because life is much richer with them.

    All the best.
