Seattle and Allrecipes

I was fortunate to have the opportunity to travel to Seattle and visit the home of Allrecipes corporate offices last week. I brought Paul along for the ride and this was our first time in Seattle but hopefully, not our last.

I am in love with this gorgeous city.

A view of downtown Seattle, taken from a hotel room.

This was the view from our hotel room. We stayed in the heart of downtown, within walking distance to the Allrecipes corporate offices and Pike Place Market. If you visit, and you definitely should – come hungry. Seattle is home to a ridiculous number of amazing restaurants yet the feeling here is comfortable and relaxed. Everywhere we went we were greeted with a warm, welcoming attitude.

Eat, drink, shop, and sight see. Then eat some more.

The sign for Pike Place Market.

When I think Seattle, I think Pike Place Market. It was the first place we headed to get our tourist on.

A man standing in front of a fish stall selling fresh fish.

You’ll see lots of guys like this – standing in front of mounds and mounds of fresh fish.

If I had access to this much quality seafood we would be eating fish at least two or three times a week.

A variety of flowers arranged at a flower stall.

I was completely stunned by the gorgeous flowers.

Several bundles of different types of flowers.

I want to fill every corner of my house with them.

A vegetable stall selling different types of vegetables and mushrooms.

There is an abundance of fresh produce. Looking for some fiddlehead ferns? I know where you can get some. They’ve got it all!

The entrance to a Starbucks coffee store.

I believe there is a Starbucks every half block which suits me just fine. This is the original store located at Pike Place Market.

Two small cups of soup on a tray.

Lets not forget the chowder. Pike Place Chowder had every type imaginable. Paul got the clear brothy one there on the left and I went for the full on, cream laden, seafood bisque. It was to die for and when you’re away from home, cream has no fat or calories. It’s a fact. I think I read it on Wikipedia or something.

A small group of people playing music, with a variety of instruments.

There’s music.

A street performer pretending to be a statue.

Lots of interesting things to see. After she moved, we realized this lovely lady was real.

Standing inside the Allrecipes office.

We got the grand tour of the Allrecipes offices.

Ivory Harvey sitting at her desk in an office.

This is our sweet as can be tour guide, Ivory Harvey. She is the Coordinator of the Brand Ambassador program.

Jen Evison sitting at her desk typing on her computer.

Hi Jen! Jen Evison is the Social Media Manager for Allrecipes. That means she gets to legitimately spend time on Facebook, Twittter, and Pinterest. Very cool job Jen.

Cory Vicens sitting at her office desk.

Here is Cory Vicens, Sr. Manager, Brand Marketing & Communications. She is warm, wonderful, and incredibly sharp. She also provided car service and helped us navigate our way to Starbucks for afternoon coffee. Bless you Cory!

Several rows of cubicles for the Allrecipes office.

I was surprised at the size of their expanding offices. There’s a lot going on in this place.

An Allrecipes sign.

Thank you so much to everyone who made this trip so wonderful. Cory and Ivory, you were wonderful guides and made us feel so welcome.

We love your city!

Okay I should take more away from this than just wondering if you’re going to blogher food. Lol. One track mind girl over here.

So cool to get a tour of their offices. You rock star! Thanks for letting us peek in. I loved getting a glimpse of it. A career in food is a dream job.
