You can also use full-fat if you prefer. Plain Greek yogurt can be substituted for the sour cream, but it will be a little tangier.Cilantro: Fresh cilantro gives the sauce its signature flavor. Use the leaves and tender stems for the best taste.
  • Jalapeño: Adds a mild kick. Remove the seeds and ribs for less heat, or leave some in if you want it spicier. I recommend tasting a small piece before adding it so you can gauge the heat level.

How to Make Cilantro Lime Sauce

Ingredients 

  • ½ cup sour cream, full fat or light
  • cup mayonnaise
  • ½ bunch cilantro, thick stems removed
  • ½ jalapeño, seeded and coarsely chopped
  • 1 lime, juiced
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions 

  • Add all the ingredients to the bowl of a food processor or blender and process until completely smooth. Transfer to a bowl, cover, and refrigerate until ready to serve.

Notes

Yield: Makes about ¾ to 1 cup.
Storage: Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 to 4 days. Stir before serving.
